The Centre for Human Resource Development and Lifelong Learning was established in 2012 as an Academic Centre of the University, charged with the responsibility for filling the ominous gap observed in the development of the abundant human resources within Osun state and Nigeria. This task was to be realized through provision of alternative platforms for higher education for people who are desirous of further educational development, but who, due to past experiences of their life and working circumstances could not possibly undergo such on full-time basis.
Burdened by this need to provide alternative platforms that are not too far from the conventional university conditions, the Centre mounted the following platforms for attainment of these objectives:
This runs on Weekends which on successful completion qualifies candidates for the Award of Bachelor Degrees (B.Sc/B.A/B.Sc (Edu)/B.Ed), that are in every respects similar to those of full-time candidates in their chosen discipline. The only difference being that the duration is a year longer.
These programmes also cater for the special needs of candidates who either due to the nature of their works, could only spare some specific period of each year to undergoing intensive training leading to the Award of Bachelor Degree also in their chosen field of study. The programme is specifically designed to cater for those who seeks avenue to further develop themselves as a way of enhancing in particular their knowledge in the field of education and manpower training and development. The programmes holds during Academic Holiday periods in form of Summer School operated in Advanced Countries.
The Centre also provides intensive one-year training leading to the Award of 'A' Level Certificates (similar to GCE Advanced Level) for those who desire Direct Entry into 200L in Universities within Nigeria and outside. The programmes runs two streams. A candidate may choose to undergo either of the programmes administered by these bodies: Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) or Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), or other administered by other foreign institutions like Cambridge and others.
In further pursuance of its objective the Centre provides short-term supplementary manpower development services in selected areas of professional needs leading to the Award of Certificate of Proficiency and Attendance.
To round-up its assignment of ensuring that no human being turns out a waste product, the Centre also as operate Remedial Teaching Classes for Science, Arts, Management and Social Science students that trains and represent such candidates for Ordinary Level Examinations to overcome notable deficiencies in their secondary education.
All these the Centre offers with great delight and, so far, the outcomes have been heart-warming. Improving on the foundation laid by his predecessors, the incumbent Centre Director welcomes you on board and promises that your voyage in this educational vessel will radically change your life experience for the better.
